The Department of Economics functions as a departmental unit in the School of Business and Economics. It was established in 2015 and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Economics as well as servicing courses in other schools of the University College. The department prides of providing quality training to students pursuing economics through a blended mix of Economics, mathematics and Statistics that would enrich the analytical skills and provide creative solutions for students to meet the needs of a dynamic society. This blended learning approach aims at shaping leadership, learning and practice in economic policy analysis, planning and enterprise development that will eventually lead to the realization of our vision of becoming a premier department in economic policy training, research, innovation and enterprise development. The Department also aims at networking and collaborating with other Universities, Alumni, national, regional and international organizations to enhance the quality of training and research. All are invited and welcomed to join this premier department and earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Economics.
